Frequently Asked Questions

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Please arrive on time to your appointment with NO makeup on your eyes/eye area, NO moisturizer or sunscreen, and relaxed. If you are on the go, you can arrive to your appointment early and use our lash wash and cotton pads to wash off your make up. Coffee and caffeine is also not recommended before your appointment because it can cause your eyes to jitter sometimes!

Do they damage my natural lashes?

With proper isolation and placement, lash extensions are completely healthy for your natural lashes. The eyelash extensions are individually placed onto each natural lash and comes out when the natural lash is ready to shed. No damage! The fans are handmade with the size and thickness of the natural lash in mind so it is not weighing down either.

How long do they last?

We recommend getting fills every 2-3 weeks. Lash extension retention varies from person to person and depends on many factors including skin type, daily activities, and after care! The lashes may last longer/shorter than other times and that is because each eyelash is going through its own growth cycle.

How do I care for them?

Do not wet them for the first 24 hours. After that, the most important thing is to wash them every day. A lash wash is highly recommended but you may also use cetaphil or baby shampoo. You can use your fingers or a small brush and make sure to gently rub and clean in-between the eyelash extensions. You also want to avoid products with oil. Use creams very lightly around the eye area and avoid makeup products with oil.

Doesn’t washing them make them fall out?

Nope! This is very important because everyone’s face naturally has oil, dead skin, and sometimes make up residue. Not washing your lashes allows oil to break down the glue and debris to build up in between the lashes. Please wash them for the health of your lashes and eyes! When you see lashes coming out after washing keep in mind that they were already detached. They are not coming out because of the wash but because they finally were released from the others. This usually starts happening when it is almost time for a fill.

Can I put makeup on them?

Mascara and eyeliner is not encouraged because it is very hard to clean out of the lash extensions. Most of the time it stays in the lashes and causes debris to build up. It also has an affect on the retention of future lashes placed because of this. You want the new lash extensions to have clean lashes free of debris to adhere to! Keeping this in mind, if you choose to wear mascara or liner here are some tips:

  • Use oil free products. For liners do not use creams or pencils. Use oil free liquid liner or black eyeshadow. (Much better!)

  • Try to wash the makeup off completely each day. Extra soap and an extra rinse is recommended. Make up remover is not good for the lashes. Even when it is oil free it usually still has some oil in it!

  • DO NOT put mascara on the lashes starting from the base. Apply to the tips only.

Can lash artist’s do their own lashes?

In our opinion, no way it is impossible! Although, according to some other artists it is doable. Being above the set of eyes that are being worked on you have a way better advantage to separate each lash with tools. Also, the glue is fume-y. It is much more comfortable for lash extensions to be applied to eyes that are closed!
